It's a paperback version and supposed to have the exact same contents as the version for the US market. I first found this series when I was on a reading rampage last year. I love how they stick together and support each other and laugh through anything life throws at them. Gorman's work is challenging, and is refreshing in that he avoids many of the typical false dichotomies presented in contemporary Pauline scholarship. It was interesting to read, but felt like it was lacking something. Richards, with his personal experience in Africa, has done a great job of introducing the reader to a zone of conflict that will be unfamiliar to most Americans. The only "smart guy" in the book is the main character, Evan, who is an "import" from a big city in South Florida. But they have no qualms killing horses, and do a lot of that. I found myself beyond angry with the adults in the book who refused to even listen to the teenagers - something that occurs far too often in real life. Scholarly yet accessible, this book navigates through the important musical characteristics from the period and offers specific insights and strategies to address them. (I'll confess here that I do wish author Maurice Leblanc had applied himself a bit more to plotting there are plenty of logical fallacies in "Death on the Prowl", for example, that M.
